Carer Payment is an income support payment for people who provide constant care to someone with a severe disability, illness or frailty, and whose caring responsibilities limit their ability to work full-time. Services Australia considers the person’s care needs, as well as the carer’s income, assets and residency circumstances. The amount and eligibility outcome depend on individual circumstances, and Carer Payment is separate from Carer Allowance, which is a supplementary payment. You can check the current rules and apply through Services Australia at servicesaustralia.gov.au.
