To qualify for the Disability Support Pension (DSP), you generally need a permanent physical, intellectual or psychiatric condition that is diagnosed, reasonably treated and stabilised. Services Australia will assess whether your condition scores at least 20 points under the Impairment Tables, and whether it stops you working at least 15 hours a week in the next two years and likely indefinitely. You may also need to meet a Program of Support requirement, unless an exemption applies, as well as income, assets, age and Australian residence rules. Eligibility depends on your circumstances, so check the details with Services Australia.
